Earlier this year, Verizon tweaked its prepaid offerings by launching its new Allset Plans that start at $35 for basic phone and $45 for smartphones, as well as Bridge Data add-ons. Some folks still weren’t interested in Verizon’s prepaid plans due to their lack of LTE access, but it looks like that’ll change very soon.
Sources speaking to Droid-Life claim that Verizon will begin allowing prepaid customers to access its 4G LTE network starting July 17. The LTE access will reportedly be added to the existing Allset Plans. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on whether or not Verizon will alter its pricing for the Allset Plans and Bridge Data add-ons once 4G LTE connectivity is added in.
To add support to this rumor, Droid-Life has shared a screenshot taken from Verizon’s Testman website that shows an LG “G2 Prepaid.” Verizon’s LG G2 includes 4G LTE connectivity, so it’s likely that a prepaid version would as well.
Verizon’s new Allset Plans and Bridge Data add-ons are pretty enticing prepaid options, but their lack of LTE support automatically makes them a no-go for a lot of wireless users. Several other carriers offer LTE connectivity with their prepaid plans, so it’s good to learn that Verizon may finally do the same later this month. If you’re in the hunt for a new prepaid plan, it may be worth it to check out Verizon once July 17 rolls around.
If this rumor holds true, will any of you switch to Verizon’s prepaid service?
