Back at the beginning of March, a rumor claimed that the HTC Desire 610 would eventually make its way to AT&T in the U.S. We still haven’t gotten any confirmation from AT&T or HTC on the matter, but today that rumor’s gotten some support in the form of a leaked render.
Prolific leakster @evleaks shared an image of the AT&T-flavored Desire 610 this morning. While there’s no visible AT&T branding on the hardware itself, we can see AT&T’s 4G LTE logo in the 610’s status bar as well as some AT&T apps on its home screen.
Originally announced in February 2014, the HTC Desire 610 boasts a 4.7-inch 960x540 display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 2040mAh battery. It also offers 8-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras.
Obviously the HTC Desire 610 can’t compete with the flagship One (M8) in a straight-up spec battle. As long as AT&T prices it appropriately, though, the Desire 610 could be a compelling entry-level option for AT&T customers that want a new Android phone that’s easy on the wallet. The Desire 610’s attractive, polycarbonate body could help to make it more tempting that other handsets around its price range.
