Google I/O officially kicks off tomorrow, and while we’ve expected that Android Wear and Android TV will dominate the show, we now know that we’ve got another treat to look forward to.
Chrome and Android head Sundar Pichai has revealed to Bloomberg Businessweek that Google will show off the next major version of Android at I/O this week. “I want the world to understand what we are doing sooner,” Pichai said in the profile piece. No details on the "L" release were given.
Also on tap for I/O is Android Wear, says Bloomberg, as well as some unnamed new manufacturing partners and devices. Finally, the publication’s sources say that Android TV is on the schedule of topics as well.
Overall it looks like this year’s Google I/O is going to be a biggie. Not only are we likely to learn more about the major new Android Wear and Android TV platforms, but now we know that we’ll also get a sneak peek of Android “L,” which is expected to bring with it a refreshed design.
Between Android Wear, Android TV, Android “L” and more, what are you most looking forward to at this year’s I/O?
