Many smartphone manufacturers now have their flagship hardware on an annual refresh cycle. Huawei is no different, which is why it should come as no surprise that it’s got a follow-up to 2013’s Ascend P6 in the works.
According to a tweet from @evleaks, Huawei is prepping a new device known as the Ascend P7 that “basically looks like the P6.” The Ascend P7’s alleged spec sheet includes the following components:
To compare, the Ascend P6 features a 4.7-inch 720p display, 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front shooters and a 2000mAh battery. Should this leaked Ascend P7 spec list hold true, Huawei’s next flagship ought to be both a respectable follow-up to the Ascend P6 as well as a formidable competitor to other high-end handsets.
There’s no word yet on when the Ascend P7 might debut. However, the Ascend P6 was introduced in early June 2013, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the P7 arrived sometime in the next month or two.
