Since taking the wraps off of the Droid Mini, Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx in July 2013, Verizon has released the Mini and Ultra in black, red and white variants, but the Maxx has only been sold in plain ol’ black. That’s finally changing today, though, as Verizon has launched two new color options for the Droid Maxx.
Verizon has announced that the Droid Maxx is now available in a pair of new hues: black with chrome accents and high-gloss red. Both models are being sold on Verizon’s site today at a price of $99.99 with a two-year contract, $20.83 per month with Verizon Edge or $499.99 full retail. Those folks that prefer a brick and mortar buying experience will have to wait for the units to hit stores on April 22.
Besides the new colors, these Droid Maxx models are the same as the original black unit that launched last year. If you need a spec refresher, well, that’s what I’m here for:
Considering that the Droid Mini and Droid Ultra have already been released in a couple of new hues, it’s good to see Motorola and Verizon finally get around to giving the Droid Maxx some new duds as well. After all, who doesn’t love having more color choices when it comes to buying a new smartphone?
