We've already seen the new HTC One (M8) in a number of different leaks, including photos that've showed the device's various color options and a video comparing it to the original HTC One. Today I've got one more batch of leaked shots to share with you. That may not sound super exciting, but what makes these photos interesting is that they include comparisons of the new One with several other top-tier smartphones.
The newly-leaked images show off a dummy unit of the new HTC One that's dark gray in color. After posing for a few solo photos, the device is laid out next to several other popular handsets like the iPhone 5s, LG G2, Samsung Galaxy S 4, Sony Xperia Z1 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
As one might expect from a device with a 5-inch screen and large bezels, the new One is a pretty sizable slab of hardware. The images make it appear as though the new One is around the same size as the Xperia Z1, making it larger than the iPhone 5s, G2 and Galaxy S 4 but smaller than the Note 3. For reference, the Xperia Z1 measures 144.4 x 73.9 x 8.8mm in size.
In addition to these leaked shots, the new HTC One has appeared in the database of TENAA, a Chinese certification body. The entry contains just about all of the One's spec details, reaffirming that it's packing a 5-inch 1080p display, 2.26GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and Android 4.4.2. All of this is stuffed into a body that measures 146 x 70.5 x 9.45mm, which means it is indeed similar in size to the Xperia Z1. The entry also confirms that the new One will be available in silver, black, gold and red color options and that it's got 16-megapixel and 4-megapixel cameras, the latter of which is likely an UltraPixel sensor.
The new HTC One is slated to make its debut on March 25 at events in both New York and London. To help pass the time until then, hit up the gallery below for more photos comparing the device with other popular smartphones.
