Well, that didn't take long. Less than a day after we got wind that an update soak test for Verizon's Moto X was about to get underway, the big red carrier has approved an update to Android 4.4.2 for its version of Motorola's flagship smartphone.
According to Verizon's official support documents, this new update for the Moto X will bump the device up to software version 164.55.22. Along with a bump to Android 4.4.2, Verizon Moto X owners are getting improved phone dialer performance, better battery life, Isis Mobile Wallet enhancements and more as part of this update. The full changelog from Verizon is as follows:
KEY DEVICE ENHANCEMENTS:
- Security & Stability
- Improved phone dialer application performance
- Improved synchronization of email attachments
- Enhanced on-device security
- Roaming
- Improved connectivity when roaming
- Improvements
- Battery life improved

Looks like a pretty good update to me. A bump up to the latest version of Android always good, and the improvements to phone dialer performance, roaming and email attachment sync are nice little additions.
Neither Motorola nor Verizon have made any official announcements regarding this update's rollout. The good news is that if you've got a Verizon-branded Moto X and a craving for some fresh KiKat goodness, you can check for your Android 4.4.2 bump manually by heading into Settings > About phone > System updates. If you manage to snag the update, don't forget to take a break from enjoying your treat to let us know about it!
