Remember when I told you that the AT&T and T-Mobile versions of the HTC One are expected to begin receiving their Android 4.4 updates later this month? Well I've got some good news, friends: The updates are now one step closer to rolling out over the air and landing on your handsets.
HTC executive Mo Versi announced today that the Android 4.4 + Sense 5.5 updates for both the AT&T and T-Mobile HTC One have received technical approval from the carriers. There's no word yet on exactly when the updates will actually begin going out to users, but Versi says that the push should begin soon.
HTC originally expected to begin rolling Android 4.4 to the various U.S. carrier versions of the HTC One last month, but the updates ran into a delay and missed HTC's deadline. The good news is that the HTC One owners haven't had to wait too much longer for the updates: The Sprint One's update snuck out on the final day of January, while the Verizon One's update arrived earlier this month. Now it's almost time for AT&T and T-Mobile One owners to break off their own pieces of Google's KitKat bar. Stay tuned and I'll give you a shout once the updates begin rolling.
