Kyocera has turned its waterproof Hydro phones into a full lineup of hardware, launching several Hydro-branded handsets across multiple U.S. carriers. Today the manufacturer is adding another Hydro phone to the family with the debut of the Kyocera Hydro Plus for Cricket Wireless.

Available from Cricket starting today for $139.99 without a contract, the Hydro Plus is an Android smartphone whose tentpole feature is its ability to withstand spraying water or full immersion in 1 meter of liquid for up to 30 minutes. When it comes to more traditional specs, the Hydro Plus features a 3.5-inch 480x320 IPS LCD display on its face, a 3.2-megapixel shooter on its backside and a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 processor at its heart. There's also 2GB built-in storage, a 4GB microSD card and 512MB of RAM.

Cricket is also touting the inclusion of its Muve Music 4.0 service on the Hydro Plus. Muve Music is the prepaid carrier's own music streaming service that offers 16 million tracks, support for downloading music for offline playback and discovery tools like Muve First and Muve Headliner.

While the Hydro Plus won't be blowing anyone's hair back with its raw spec muscle, it does look like a nice, affordable Android handset for Cricket customers that need something a bit more durable than the average smartphone. Cricket says that the Hydro Plus is available both from its website and its brick and mortar shops, so be sure to keep an eye out for it in the coming days.
