Less than a month after taking the wraps off of the Life Pro, BLU Products has added two more members to its stable of devices. The Florida-based firm recently introduced the Studio 5.0 II and the Advance 4.0, two Android-powered handsets that are aimed at customers looking for an affordable, entry-level smartphone.
First up is the Studio 5.0 II, which as the name suggests, is the follow-up to the original Studio 5.0 that debuted back in April. The Studio 5.0 II packs a 5-inch 854x480 IPS LCD panel on its face along with a VGA camera. Around back is a 5-megapixel shooter, and sandwiched inside of the unit's 9.7mm-thick body is a 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor, 512MB RAM and 4GB of storage that can be supplemented with a microSD card. Powered by a combination of Android 4.2 and a 2000mAh battery, the Studio 5.0 II also includes support GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz and 21Mbps HSPA+ 850/1700/1900MHz.
Next up is the Advance 4.0, which is also coming to market with Android 4.2 in tow. It's got a smaller LCD display than its new sibling, measuring in at 4 inches with a resolution of 800x480, but it does include the same combo of a 5-megapixel rear and VGA front camera. Also included is a 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage, microSD card slot and a 1600mAh battery. The Advance 4.0 includes support for GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz and 21Mbps HSPA+ 850/1700/1900MHz.
So how much will these two new BLUs set you back? The Studio 5.0 II carries a price tag of $139 without a contract, while the Advance 4.0 is priced at $89 sans commitment. Those are pretty low price tags for two brand new Android smartphones, and while their feature sets likely won't have the spec hounds drooling, these two devices should be able to handle most of the everyday tasks that their owners throw at them.
