Planning to take advantage of Motorola's extended $150 discount on a Moto Maker-ized Moto X? Then you'll want to know exactly how the holiday price promotion is going to work. Motorola has detailed the process on its official blog, explaining that it's worked out a system to ensure that customers taking advantage of the sale have enough time to design exactly the device that they want.
Starting at 12:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Dec. 4, and Monday, Dec. 9, anyone that'd like a discounted Moto X can head to motorola.com/holiday2daysale and register for the promo. Moto says that consumers will know right away if there are still devices available for purchase. Anyone that successfully registers for a device will receive a promo code within a few hours that will unlock the $150 discount and will be valid for a full week. After the recipient settles on a design, he or she will simply enter the promo code at checkout and be given the discount.
In addition to the $150 Moto X promo codes, Motorola will be offering a 30 percent discount on select accessories with the promo code "THANKS." Some of the add-ons that will be eligible for use with the code include cases, headphones and "wireless products."
After the issues that plagued the Moto Maker site yesterday, it's good to see that Motorola is not only offering its $150 discount two more times, but that it's also taken the time to put a new system in place that'll hopefully work out better than having everyone rush its virtual checkout stand at once. The company does note that it has increased the number of sale devices available, but considering the discount involved and the fact that a limited number of codes will be available each day, it may not be a bad idea to have your browser pointed at motorola.com/holiday2daysale as close to 12:00 p.m. EST as possible on Dec. 4 and Dec. 9.
