You know how some folks awake from their slumber and raid the fridge for a late night snack? That's kind of what we're doing tonight, except we're raiding Twitter for a late night phone leak. A new tweet posted by @evleaks has revealed the HTC Zara, an unannounced Android handset that looks a bit like a mixture of devices from the One and Desire families, which is actually how the phone had been previously described.
According to tonight's leak, the Zara is sporting a 4.5-inch qHD (960x540) touchscreen on its face, an 8-megapixel shooter on its backside and a 1.2GHz dual-core MSM8930 processor at its core. Also said to be included on the Zara's spec sheet is 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, a microSD slot, 2,100mAh battery and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean running beneath HTC Sense 5.5. The image also shows what looks to be front-facing BoomSound speakers.
The HTC Zara is said to be due out in the fourth quarter, and while there's no mention of any potential carriers in tonight's leak, a previous report pegged the Zara as being Sprint-bound. If this latest leak is accurate, the Zara could be a respectable mid-range phone thanks to goodies like a large-ish display and a expandable storage. The mention of Sense 5.5 in tonight's report is also interesting, though with the Zara's screen blurred out and no other details included, we'll have to wait to find out what changes the next version of HTC's custom UI will include.
UPDATE: The leaked image of the HTC Zara has been removed from this post.
