Just a hair over two months after originally announcing its intent to launch the HTC One, C Spire Wireless has officially become the latest U.S. carrier to add the aluminum-clad Android smartphone to its shelves. C Spire announced today that the HTC One is now available both online and in its retail stores for $199.99 with a two-year commitment.

The C Spire-flavored HTC One is the same as the models that are being offered by other U.S. operators, meaning that you'll be getting a device with a 4.7-inch 1080p display, 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 32GB of built-in storage and Android Jelly Bean. The One is also compatible with C Spire's 4G LTE network.

While it may be hitting C Spire a few months after making its initial U.S. debut, it's good to see the HTC One making its way onto another operator. There will always be a debate about what the best Android phone at any given moment is, but most would probably agree that HTC's flagship is one of the better devices released so far in 2013, and so expanded availability of it is a great thing.

One group that likely won't be terribly excited about today's news is Verizon customers, who are still waiting for their own variant of the One to launch. Verizon has only said that its One will launch "later this summer." The good news is that there's only about a month of summer left, so maybe we'll soon be able to add Verizon to the list of U.S. carriers selling the HTC One as well.
