Looks like the Galaxy S 4 isn't the only Android handset on Sprint that's getting a new paint job. Sprint today announced that it will launch a red version of the HTC One this Friday, Aug. 16, for $199.99 with a two-year contract. Sprint currently offers the HTC One in silver and black colors for $199.99.
In addition to launching this new HTC One color, Sprint will soon kick off a buy one, get one free promotion on its One. Customers that purchase an HTC One in silver, black or red any time between Aug. 16 and Aug. 30 will be able to get a second HTC One for free with a two-year commitment.
The red HTC One was officially announced in June, but until today the scarlet device has only been available to consumers in the U.K. It's great to see that the red One will soon be making its way across the ol' pond, not only because having more device color options is a good thing, but also because I think that this thing looks pretty darn spiffy. The bad news is that Sprint does say that the red HTC One is "exclusively for Sprint customers," so red phone lovers not already on the Now Network may not want to hold their breath while waiting for a red One of their own. Switching carriers for a new color of a smartphone isn't that crazy of an idea, though, right?
