Samsung's Galaxy Note III is getting close, just as we've seen several times in the past, the leaks surrounding the device are starting to build up in the weeks leading up to its official unveiling. Following the discovery that Samsung name-dropped the Note III in some documentation for its SideSync software, today a new report has surfaced that claims to have a spec rundown for the upcoming phone/tablet hybrid.
The folks at SamMobile say that one of their "trusted insiders" has passed along some details on the Galaxy Note III's feature list, and unsurprisingly, the thing will supposedly sport a big screen. It's said that the Note III will feature a 5.68-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display while sharing the same footprint as the Note II and its 5.5-inch screen, suggesting that Samsung has been busy shaving some bezels. The back of the phone is expected to house a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization.
Diving inside the Note III's pocket-stretching frame, today's report claims that the international SM-N900 variant will be powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Exynos 5420 processor with an ARM Mali-T628 MP6 GPU. Samsung is also said to be working on an SM-N9005 variant with LTE connectivity, but that version's chipset is still a mystery. One of the SM-N9005 variant's features that we do know about, though, is its 3GB RAM. Rounding out the Note III's purported spec list is 16GB/32GB/64GB storage, 3,200mAh battery and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
While spec leaks for the Galaxy Note III have been fairly light to date, today's report does line up with what we've heard about it in the past. Should this latest leak hold true, the Note III ought to be a pretty respectable little big handset that I'm sure many fans of the phone/tablet hybrid product category will want to check out. There's no word yet on when they'll get that chance, but considering that the Note II and Galaxy S 4 hit all four major U.S. carriers in the U.S. (and then some), I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar situation with the Note III. Only a few more weeks to go!
