After a bit of a delay, it appears that T-Mobile's iPhone carrier update has begun making its way to users. Our pals over at TmoNews report that the T-Mobile Carrier Update is now rolling out to iPhones across the country, and several commenters both on that site and in T-Mobile's official forums report that they have indeed received the update. T-Mobile hasn't made any sort of official announcement about the update's rollout.
When it first revealed the Carrier Update last week, T-Mobile said that it would contain enhancements such as support for HD Voice and AWS LTE on unlocked iPhone 5 models. Also included with the update is Visual Voicemail, MMS Settings, a 4G network indicator and improved battery life as a result of network and device optimization.
If you've got an iPhone that's running on T-Mobile and haven't received an update notification yet, you can check for the T-Mobile Carrier Update manually by going into Settings > General > About. A pop-up should appear if the update is available to download. It shouldn't take long to download and install the T-Mobile Carrier Update because of its small size, which is good news since that means that iPhone users on T-Mobile won't have to wait long to mess with the new features that it enables. Be sure to give us a shout in the comments below once this carrier update hits your iPhone!
