It's only been a couple of weeks since the Samsung Galaxy S 4 was officially introduced to the world, but it looks like two models of the upcoming flagship smartphone have made their way through the FCC. First up is the SPH-L720, which is likely Sprint's version of the Galaxy S 4 (Sprint's Galaxy S III is the SPH-L710). The SPH-L720 contains the usual CDMA and LTE support that we'd expect to see in a Sprint-bound smartphone as well as GSM and WCDMA 850/1900 support, suggesting that Sprint's version of the Galaxy S 4 will include global roaming support when it lands on store shelves.

Along with the SPH-L720, the FCC has given its approval to a Samsung device featuring the model number SCH-R970. Samsung said when it announced the Galaxy S 4 that both Cricket and U.S. Cellular will be offering the device here in the U.S, and so as Phone Scoop notes, it's possible that this SCH-R970 model is the Galaxy S 4 model that'll be hitting those carriers in the future. Cricket and U.S. Cellular currently offer Galaxy S III models that are also known by the model number SCH-R530.

Samsung has said that the Galaxy S 4 will begin rolling out to carriers around the globe in the second quarter of 2013. So far T-Mobile is the only U.S. carrier that's divulged any more information, revealing recently that its Galaxy S 4 will launch around May 1. While these FCC filings don't guarantee that the Galaxy S 4 is close to launching on Sprint, Cricket or U.S. Cellular, they do mean that the handset is one step closer to arriving in those carriers' stores.
