Over the past week, we've noted that Samsung began pushing out Jelly Bean updates for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Note 10.1 here in the U.S., but today Samsung finally got around to making the updates all nice and official. The company says that the Android 4.1 updates for all three models are going out now and that the bump up to Jelly Bean will help to make the tablets better with its faster performance, smoother user experience and enhanced UI that's been optimized for 10.1-inch displays. Samsung also named some of the new features that's part of the Note 10.1's update, dubbed the Premium Suite, which includes:

• Air View: Use an S Pen to preview content without opening it 
• Cascase View: Users can resize, move and pin apps in multiple views and run them simultaneously
• Enhanced handwriting: Users can send handwritten notes to others over email and write in the S Planner
• S Pen improvements: The S Pen can now change color and writing modes by pressing a button, and the Note 10.1 can also be unlocked just by removing the S Pen from the unit

Any bump up to Jelly Bean is good news, but it looks like Note 10.1 owners are being treated to an even more feature-packed update, especially if they're heavy S Pen users. Meanwhile, the Tab 2 7.0 and Tab 2 10.1 folk still have a lot of Android 4.1 goodies to look forward to, including Google Now and the aforementioned smoother experience that Project Butter brings. The updates can be grabbed over the air by heading into Settings > About tablet > Software update on your device or hooking it up to your computer and running Samsung's Kies software.
