For week 38, the Apple iPhone 5 reclaimed its #1 spot on the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart in PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Note II held its title in the People's Choice Chart for the fourth consecutive week. Things have settled for the time being as most of the pre-holiday devices are already available. With the end of the month nearing, which smartphone will come out on top for the month of November?
MT PLEASANT, SC – PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) sets the standard for ranking the best smartphones by taking both readers' and experts' opinions and weighing them in respective charts. With 37 expert points, the Samsung Galaxy Note II's two-week run as the #1 smartphone in both the People's Choice Chart and Mobile Tech Experts Chart ended in week 38 as the Apple iPhone 5 edged it out by only one expert point. However, in the People's Choice Chart, the Samsung Galaxy Note II remained the top pick.
The Nokia Lumia 920 narrowed the gap between second and first, trimming the Galaxy Note II's lead to only 14 reader votes. Once again, in third, was the Samsung Galaxy S III, trailing the Nokia Lumia 920 by 140 votes. The Google Nexus 4 by LG, however, closed in on the top three, jumping from #6 to #4 and trailing the Galaxy S III by only 48 votes. In second with 37 points, the Samsung Galaxy Note II successfully held off the Samsung Galaxy S III in third with 25 points in the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart. Although it didn't make the top five, the HTC DROID DNA jumped 21 positions to take the #6 spot with 14 points.
“While the holiday shopping buzz remains strong around new Android and Windows Phone 8 smartphones, Apple’s iPhone 5 continues to top the charts, as evident by PhoneDog’s Expert’s Choice Rankings," said Aaron Baker, Editor-in-Chief of PhoneDog.
