Clear your calendars, Windows Phone fans, because Microsoft just sent out invitations for a Windows Phone 8 event on October 29. The launch event will be taking place in San Francisco and will kick off at 10:00 a.m. Unsurprisingly, no new details about Windows Phone 8 are mentioned in the invitation.
A report from late August claimed that Microsoft was planning to hold a launch event for Windows Phone 8 on October 29, with actual handset available to follow "a week or two later." So far it looks like the first part of that claim was spot-on, but we'll have to wait for Microsoft or the manufacturers to actually announce release dates before we know about the latter half of that rumor. We do know that Nokia's new Lumias and the HTC Windows Phone 8X will be hitting AT&T in November, so if the report holds up, it's possible that we'll see at least some of those products early in the month. Keep it locked to PhoneDog for more.
