How does a new smartphone announcement sound to help you power through this Wednesday afternoon? LG just announced that both AT&T and Sprint will offer the LG Optimus G here in the U.S., but unfortunately for customers on those carriers, there aren't any launch or pricing details available just yet. AT&T and Sprint's Optimus G models will feature many of the same specs as the international version that debuted in late August, meaning that you can expect them to include a 4.7-inch 1280x768 True HD IPS+ display, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM, 4G LTE, 2,100mAh battery and Android 4.0. AT&T's model will also feature 32GB of storage, microSD slot and an 8-megapixel camera, while Sprint's variant will pack 16GB memory, a 16GB microSD card and a 13-megapixel shooter.
With its large, high-res display and quad-core processor, the Optimus G looks to have the makings of a handset that would have a fan of high-end Android handsets reaching for their wallet. It's definitely kind of a bummer that we don't have any availability details for either version, but I suppose at least AT&T and Sprint subscribers know that the Optimus G will soon be headed their way. As usual, you can bet that we'll give you a shout once AT&T and Sprint are feeling more chatty about release and pricing info. You can find our quick hands-on with the international Optimus G below to keep you entertained until then.
