As evidenced by its new "Unlimited & Unlocked" campaign, T-Mobile is aiming to convince iPhone users to make the jump to its network by enticing them with unlimited data and monthly savings. Unsurprisingly, that effort is going to continue with the iPhone 5, as T-Mobile is planning to get nano-SIMs that will work with Apple's new handset in mid-October. As the TmoNews image above shows, there aren't currently any T-Mobile phones (or any other phones at all) that take a nano-SIM, so T-Mobile will be receiving the new cards specifically so that iPhone 5 owners can use their shiny new smartphone on the Magenta airwaves.
Considering how hard T-Mobile is pushing to get unlocked iPhone users to switch to it, it's no surprise that the carrier will be getting hold of nano-SIMs so that the iPhone 5 can be used on its network. Of course, anyone wanting to use an iPhone 5 will need a model that's unlocked, which will start at $649 direct from Apple. For folks that have their heart set on pairing the new iOS handset with T-Mobile's network, though, at least the wait for a compatible nano-SIM will only last around one month. Have any of you ever taken an iPhone onto T-Mobile?
