Are you team HTC or team Samsung?

As someone that reviews hundreds of devices a year, it's genuinely hard to pick one "best" device.  Which is why I rarely respond when someone asks "which phone is best, X or Y?"  As with anything, it depends on what matters most to YOU.  I can think of countless smartphones that excel in display technology, battery life, media, and design, but can't say that one particular device does all of those things perfectly.  There's no "one size fits all," sadly.  You'll find things you love and hate in every smartphone on the market.

But there are two on the market right now that are arguably the top-notch Android contenders, at least when it comes to specs and overal usability: the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S III.

HTC's One X is the company's flagship Android smartphone, and it packs a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU, 4.7-inch HD display (Super LCD2), 1 GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, 1,800 mAh battery, 4G LTE connectivity, and Android 4.0 with HTC Sense 4.  All in a stylish polycarbonate shell.  Samsung's Galaxy S III (international) packs a 1.4 GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display, 1 GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p recording, a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, 2,100 mAh battery, and Android 4.0 with the new TouchWiz.  It's coming soon to five mobile carriers in the States, complete with a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU, 2 GB RAM, and 4G LTE connectivity.
