Rumors of a Google Nexus tablet are nothing new, but a report this evening has suggested that such a device may just be a hair over a month away from debuting. According to a source speaking to TechnoBuffalo, the ASUS-made Nexus tablet will feature a quad-core Tegra 3 processor and will be introduced at this year's Google I/O conference, which runs from June 27th through June 29th. This rumor gets even more exciting for those of us planning to make the trek to the event, as the site claims that I/O attendees will be given their own Nexus tablets from Google.
Previous reports surrounding this mysterious Nexus tablet have claimed that it'll come to market sporting a 7-inch display and Android 4.0. It's also been suggested that the targeted retail price for the device is $199, and that although the slate was originally set to debut in May, it was pushed to July to help get the price below the $249 mark that it may have carried had it not been held back. A late June debut/giveaway at Google I/O and an actual launch in July sounds plausible, and with the recent introduction of NVIDIA's Kai platform, it's possible that the Nexus tablet could also reach its targeted $199 price point. Obviously all of this is still a rumor at this point, but the good news is that Google I/O is a little over a month out, so it may not be long before all is revealed. Stay tuned.
