If yesterday's rumor about the first BlackBerry 10 device possibly being introduced in August got you hoping that RIM may introduce some new BB10 hardware at its BlackBerry World show next week, well, we've got some bad news for you. A RIM representative has confirmed to CNET that there won't be any BlackBerry 10 hardware unveiled at the event, which runs from May 1st through May 3rd. The company will be showing off its BlackBerry 10 software, though, and RIM has previously announced that it'll hand out BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha units to developers at the gathering, although the company has stressed that those devices won't be final hardware nor will they be running the final BB10 software.
This news isn't a total surprise considering that RIM has said that the first BlackBerry 10 devices won't be launching until the second half of this year. And while it is kind of a bummer that it's still not clear when we'll get our first peek at BlackBerry 10 hardware, at least RIM will be using next week's event to show us its shiny new platform. As usual, you can bet that we'll be bringing you all of the news out of BlackBerry World as it happens. How many of you are interested in seeing what RIM has to offer with BlackBerry 10?
