Late last month, Nokia announced that the Belle update for Symbian devices like the N8 and E7 would be rolling out in February, but the Finnish firm wasn't quite ready to offer an exact rollout date at that time. It seems that Nokia's Vietnamese arm may not have been able to contain the good news any longer, though, as it recently posted on its website will be ready to download from February 8th. The particular page has since been removed, but the cached version is still available for viewing. Also included on the page is a quick instruction guide for the upgrade process, which explains that users will can download the Nokia Suite software to their PC and then connect their handset to their computer to update to Belle.
In other Nokia Belle related news, the company recently revealed on Twitter that some devices are now shipping with the upgrade preinstalled. No specific regions were mentioned, but the news makes sense considering that we're so close to the start of the Belle rollout.
When Nokia first unveiled the Belle update last year, it said that owners of the N8, E7, E6, X7, C6-01, C7, and Oro could expect to receive the upgrade and all of the goodies that it brings. What kind of goodies, you ask? Well, included in the update is a bump up to six total homescreens, a new status bar, improved widgets and several other enhancements. Sounds good to me. Now we just have to wait for the update to actually be pushed out, which could be going down as soon as next week if this latest news is accurate. We'll let you know more when we do.
