The prepaid Android revolution has grown quite a bit over the past few months, and soon TracFone's Straight Talk MVNO will be joining in on the fun with the Samsung Galaxy Precendent. There's no word yet on hard specs for the Precedent, but the handset bears more than a passing resemblance to Boost Mobile's Galaxy Prevail, which features a 3.2-inch display and 2-megapixel camera. Such specs would make sense for the Precedent considering its $149.88 no contract price tag and $45 per month unlimited plan. The Galaxy Precedent will be making its way to Straight Talk in early September, but interested customers can learn more by moseying on over to Straight Talk's pre-order page right here.
Obviously the Samsung Galaxy Precedent isn't going to melt your face off with its specs, but for $150 sans contract, it's tough to go wrong here if you're looking for a new phone that'll be easy on the wallet. That's especially true when you consider the fact that you can get unlimited voice, text, and web for just $45 per month on Straight Talk. We'll be sure to pass along more info on the Precedent, like exactly when it'll be hitting store shelves, when we get it. Until then, check out a short clip of handset in action.
UDPATE: Straight Talk has pinged us to announce that it'll begin taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Precedent starting today, September 1st. If the Precedent sounds like the device for you, you can pre-order one right here. (The link's not live as of this writing, but it should be soon.)
