Not that it will come as a surprise to anyone that follows PhoneDog with any regularity (and why wouldn't you?), but this morning Verizon announced that the 4G LTE-enabled Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be available in both Metallic Gray and Glossy White this Thursday, July 28th. On-contract pricing will be set at $529.99 for the 16GB model or $629.99 for the 32GB flavor. This version of the Tab 10.1 features the same specs as the Wi-Fi-only Tab 10.1, meaning you're getting the same 10.1-inch 1280x800 display and dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, but obviously this model also includes built-in support for Verizon's 4G network. Plan options for Verizon's Tab 10.1 include $30 for 2GB/month, $50 for 5GB/month, or $80 for 10GB/month. It's also worth mentioning that anyone that buys the Tab 10.1 from Verizon will earn a free $25 Media Hub credit from Samsung for TV program purchases. Oh, and if you're just not quite ready to commit to a LTE-capable tablet just yet, Verizon will also begin offering the 16GB Metallic Gray Wi-Fi-only Tab 10.1 on its website on the 28th.
Although owners of the original and still LTE-less XOOM may not be thrilled about the arrival of the 4G Galaxy Tab 10.1, it's still good to see Verizon finally getting around to launching the new slate nearly two months after it was originally made official. Anyone thinking about pulling the trigger?
