If you're a U.S. Cellular customer in the market for a new Android smartphone with a physical QWERTY keyboard, your options are about to double. First up is the HTC Merge, which is launching today for $149.99 with a two-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate. The Merge sports a 3.8-inch 480x800 touchscreen, 800MHz processor, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p video capture, a sliding QWERTY keyboard, global capabilities, a preinstalled 8GB microSD card, and Android 2.2.
A little over a week later, the LG Genesis will be joining the Merge on U.S. Cellular's shelves. Officially arriving on June 9th for $149.99 with a two-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate, the Genesis features an external 3.5-inch 480x800 touchscreen, an internal 3.2-inch 480x800 touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, 32GB of storage, a preinstalled 8GB microSD card, a physical QWERTY keyboard, and Android 2.2.
Although neither the Merge nor the Genesis is exactly a surprise at this point, it's still good to see U.S. Cellular announce pricing and availability info for both devices. So, now that the Merge is here and the Genesis is right around the corner, we have to ask: which of the two $150 QWERTY-packin' Androids will you be picking up?
