Yesterday a rumor emerged claiming that Google would be introducing a near field communication-based mobile payment system tomorrow, and tonight more details about the service have been revealed. According to a document sent over to This is my next, the system will be dubbed Google Wallet and will be launching later this summer with support from several different retailers. Exactly which stores will be participating isn't clear yet, but it sounds like the retailers could be getting their hands on the NFC systems on September 1st.
Obviously details about Google Wallet are still a bit sparse, but all should be revealed tomorrow morning when El Goog makes it all nice and official. From what we know so far, are any of you interested in taking advantage of a service like Google Wallet and using an NFC-enabled phone to make payments?
