Time for another chapter in the legal battle between Apple and Samsung. First Apple sued Samsung for patent and trademark infringement, then Samsung fired back with suits of its own. Now a federal judge has ordered Samsung to grant Apple access to five of its new/unreleased products so that the Cupertino firm can decide whether or not it wants to file for an early injunction. Samsung's got 30 days to hand over the devices, which include the Galaxy S II, Infuse 4G, DROID Charge, Galaxy Tab 8.9, and Galaxy Tab 10.1, as well as marketing materials for the five products. Part of the judge's order to Samsung is as follows:

"Although the Court expresses no opinion on the merits of Apple's claims, the Court notes that Apple has produced images of Samsung products and other evidence that provide a reasonable basis for Apple's belief that Samsung's new products are designed to mimic Apple's products."

Samsung argued that giving a competitor early access to unreleased devices wouldn't be entirely fair, but the judge disagreed, saying that that argument was undermined by the fact that Samsung's already made public images of the devices and, in some cases, actually given out the physical products. It'll be pretty interesting to see how Apple reacts to being given access to the products and where the case will go next, so be sure to stay tuned.
