The HTC Sensation 4G may be the new Android hotness on T-Mobile, but it may stay that way for long if Samsung has anything to say about it. According to a report from This is my next, Samsung is prepping a device codenamed "Hercules" (you can check out a sketch below) that'll feature a 4.5-inch 480x800 Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm APQ8060 processor, 8-megapixel camera with flash and 1080p video capture, front-facing camera, 1GB RAM, 16GB ROM, NFC support, support for 42Mbps HSPA+ speeds, compatibility with AT&T's 850/1900MHz 4G network in case the AT&T-Mobile deal goes through, and Android 2.3 all in a package that's very similar in size to the Infuse 4G. The downside? The Hercules, which is said to be a part of an "over $350" price category, won't even be entering T-Mobile's test labs for another month and it isn't scheduled for acceptance until the middle of August.

All in all, the Hercules sounds, well, pretty herculean. There's certainly a lot to love about the device, but one of its best features could well be its ability to access both HSPA+ on T-Mobile as well as AT&T. That means that anyone considering the Hercules needn't worry about it quickly becoming obsolete when/if AT&T acquires T-Mobile and shuts down its AWS network.
