It's been a while since we've heard any iPhone 5 rumors, but luckily today we've got Jeffries & Co. analyst Peter Misek putting his two cents in on Apple's upcoming handset. According to Misek and his industry checks, the next iPhone will debut in September under the name "iPhone 4S" and will feature some minor cosmetic alterations, better cameras, a dual-core A5 processor, and HSPA+ connectivity. Mostly stuff we've heard before, right? Well, Misek's not done yet. He also says that his checks indicate that Apple's planning to make the new iPhone available on both Sprint and T-Mobile. Oh, and just in case you were wondering why there's no LTE support, Misek believes that Apple won't be including it because the necessary Qualcomm LTE chips won't be available in sufficient quantities by the time that the new iPhone's launch rolls around.
As I said before, we've already heard most of this stuff in the past and expect some of it, like the September debut and inclusion of a dual-core CPU, to become reality. It'd be kind of a surprise to see Apple release the next-gen iPhone on Sprint and T-Mobile, although we did recently see an iPhone 4 with T-Mobile 3G support in the wild, so it may not be that much of a stretch.
