Verizon launched its first 4G mobile hotspot late last month, but if for some reason you weren't feeling that device or prefer to use MiFis for you tethering needs, today Big Red's got you covered. Verizon just announced that the MiFi 4510L 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot, which was originally unveiled at CES back in early January, is available online today and will be arriving in their brick and mortar locations on Thursday, the 21st. You'll be paying $99.99 with a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate (or $279.99 contract-free) for this 4G MiFi, but handing over your hard-earned dollars, you'll gain the ability to tether up to five devices to Verizon's LTE network. Also, for you folks living in non-LTE areas interested in taking advantage of the new MiFi to pull down LTE speeds, Big Red tweeted this morning that they'll be expanding their 4G network to "a mess of new cities and towns" this Thursday.
Forking over $100 for a 4G mobile hotspot on a two-year contract may seem crazy to some with the prevalence of hotspot-enabled smartphones, but for anyone that needs every last drop of juice out of their handset, these dedicated hotspots could be perfect. Are any of you planning on picking up the latest addition to Verizon's mobile broadband stable?
