iOS users have long only had one option, a passcode, if they wanted a lock screen that was more secure than the standard "Slide to Unlock" option, but a new leak has revealed that Apple may be internally testing a new method. According to 9 to 5 Mac, Apple has deployed a pattern-style lock screen to employees for use with the "Apple Connect" iOS app, and they may plan to extend the pattern lock to other internal apps in the future. However, it's not clear if pattern locking will make its way to consumers.
A new way to unlock a smartphone may not seem like the most exciting addition ever, but I'm sure that there are more than a few iOS users out there that would like the option of using a pattern lock. Considering that pretty much the exact same pattern lock has existed in Android since the G1's arrival, though, it's tough to say whether or not Apple will ever extend the feature to us end users. What say you, iOSers? Is a pattern lock something you'd use, or do you prefer a PIN code/password for your security needs?
