Nokia isn't exactly known for releasing smartphones on U.S. carriers, especially when it comes to CDMA networks like Verizon and Sprint, but that could all be changing soon. Today Nokia CEO Stephen Elop said that this company has been speaking with the carriers throughout the entire Nokia-Microsoft process and that they're "considering everything" going forward. Elop specifically mentioned Verizon, saying that Nokia and Big Red have been in talks but had nothing specific to announce just yet.
The idea of a Nokia-branded Windows Phone 7 device on Big Red sounds pretty exciting, and not just because there haven't been any CDMA WP7 phones released yet. Unfortunately, it sounds like we'll have to wait a while before any Nokia WP7 devices hit the market, but hey, at least we'll have plenty of WP7 updates to keep us busy in the mean time.
