Yesterday we learned that the remaining myTouch 3Gs, the 3.5mm and Fender editions, would finally be upgraded to Android 2.2 beginning this Wednesday. Unfortunately, myTouch 3G Slide owners aren't as lucky. Our friends over at TmoNews have heard that the Slide's Froyo update has been delayed due to a couple of nagging issues. First up, there's a problem with WiFi calling not working 100 percent of the time, although they're not sure if that means that the calls are dropping or if they're not starting at all. The other issue has to do with the update being sent to the incorrect partition on the phone, which is unable to actually process the upgrade.
It's kind of a bummer to see the myTouch 3G Slide still waiting to get updated, but the good news is that HTC working on the issues and will hopefully have the update out soon. At least all you Slide owners can take solace in the fact that you'll be updated to Froyo, unlike XPERIA X10 users that will be stuck on Eclair forever, right? We'll be sure to update you when we learn more, so stay tuned!
