MetroPCS doesn't have the largest selection of Androids right now, but a new leak has revealed that they'll soon be adding to their lineup in a big way. What you're looking at here is the Samsung SCH-R910, an Android 2.2 handset that's built to run on MetroPCS' LTE network. Some of the SCH-R910's specs include a 1GHz Hummingbird core, 5 megapixel camera, and Froyo running beneath Sammy's TouchWiz skin. No word on exactly when this 4G handset will land, but it's said to be coming some time in Q1 2011 with a price tag somewhere between $329 and $399 (contract-free, natch).
LG's Optimus M and Huawei's Ascend aren't exactly the most high-end smartphones around, so it's nice to see the carrier get a 4G phone to satiate our bleeding edge needs. Plus, there's the fact that you're not tied to any sort of contract when purchasing a handset on MetroPCS, meaning you're able to upgrade or switch carriers without paying tons of fees. With a 1GHz core, 5 megapixel shooter, and 4G connectivity, the SCH-R910 is definitely worth keeping an eye out for. We'll keep you updated.
