Hungry for some more Gingerbread-related news? Of course you are! Today we've got a possible About Phone screen showing that Android 2.3 is present, which is rumored to be the version number of Google's next dessert. As you can see in the photo, the image purportedly came from a Nexus One, although there's no way of knowing for sure if that's accurate. The source of the screenshot says that Gingerbread will bring improved power management, a new call button, and a shiny new browser icon. For now, let's just keep this one firmly in the "Rumor" camp.
We've seen this About Phone screenshots in the past, and every time it's important to point out that they're pretty easy to fake. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gingerbread land on the Nexus One at some point, although considering that the Nexus Two is supposedly coming soon, it may not be the first to get the update like N1 owners are accustomed to. Now that the Gingerbread Man has arrived at Google HQ, let's hope that Google will be giving us more info about the OS in the next couple of weeks. In the mean time, what do you all make of the above image? Is it the real deal or totally fake?
