I recently wrote a post called, "MyTouch = US Magic?" And the answer is apparently no. If reliable sources are correct, MyTouch (as I've been calling it) will have a 5MP camera, in contrast to the Magic's 3.2. But it's not that simple.
First I should clarify that we don't have much evidence indicating that the MyTouch and Sapphire are the same device - that's just a likely scenario. So as long as leaked roadmaps continue to use the name Sapphire for the G2, I will do the same. But even if MyTouch *is* the official name for the stateside version of Magic, they are not the same phone.
Below you see the Android handset that has been called Sapphire, "the US Magic," MyTouch, the G2, and probably a few other nicknames. Assuming the photo isn't doctored, we are getting a better phone than the Vodaphone customers across the pond. No word yet on if there will be any disparities besides camera specs.
The second image below places the handset at WalMart in July at $179 with a two-year agreement. But wait a tic... What's that little bugger called Morrison in image number three? (I'll get to that in my next post.)
