What's up with the titles bestowed upon T-Mo's Android devices? Magic - the incarnations of which are muddled with excessive pseudonyms; Houdini, named after a world renouned magician who suffered a strange death; The Dream, which of course became the G1; and now that phone's successor, G1: v2 - which has been known only very recently as "Bigfoot."
Some brilliant marketing, that's what's up. The phone is real, and the mythos surrounding it is just tantalizing enough for me to plan on re-upping my contract as soon as I'm eligible - one year after the release of the G1. That is, not coincidentally, when Bigfoot is scheduled to drop.
As I tried to make out the tiny leaked image of WalMart's T-Mo roadmap (second image below) on my phone last night, I made out something that *could* have been the same Android device I saw slated for October in T-Mo's own leaked roadmap - but with another name. Morrison.
Maybe Jim isn't dead. Perhaps his death was faked and he and Pam are living happily in Marrakesh. Maybe the Patterson-Gimlin film is genuine. Maybe the phone is named after the town in Colorado near Red Rocks. Beats me, but one thing's for sure: I want one. October. $149.
