The Samsung Galaxy Tab had its coming out party tonight in New York City, at the Samsung Experience store in the Time Warner Center. And no exclusive deals on this go-around: This is coming to all four major carriers, and in time for the holiday shopping season! Launch dates may vary by carrier, as well as pricing, but look for something roughly in the $200 to $300 range, carrier subsidies notwithstanding. (But no Wifi-only models at launch.)
What we do know, though, is that this 7-inch touchscreen tablet will be sporting Froyo (Android 2.2), a Hummingbird processor, front and back cameras, 16GB internal memory, 7 hours of vid playback, support for Adobe Flash 10.1, access to Android Market's full catalog of apps (including those designed for the big screen) and size wise, it's about half the size of an Apple iPad and half the weight (though just slightly thicker).
I'm working on the video for the demo, but in the mean time, here are some pics to tide you over.
What do you think? Is this an iPad killer? For those who are on the fence, which way are you leaning? Toward the iOS gadget or this latest show of Android muscle? Let us know below.
