The past few years, Amazon has held an event in late September to introduce new Alexa-powered Echo devices. And despite the pandemic, Amazon is planning to keep up this tradition in 2020.
Amazon today sent out invitations for an event on Thursday, September 24. Like most other recent tech events, this one will be virtual, and it'll kick off at 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET.
As for what Amazon has planned, the company is keeping its cards close to its chest. "The Amazon Devices & Services team invites you to join us (virtually) on Thursday, September 24, at 10 a.m. PT, when we will share some news," the invitation sent to CNET reads.
Last year, Amazon used its late September event to announce a new Echo smart speaker, the Echo Dot with Clock, and a few other Alexa-powered devices. The year before, we officially met the third gen Echo Dot, the Echo Plus, and the Echo Show with 10.1-inch screen. So it seems likely that we'll be getting some new Echo devices from Amazon next week.
