We heard last month that Apple is prepping an "Apple One" bundle of its services, and now evidence that that bundle is actually happening has been discovered.
A new beta version of the Apple Music app for Android includes references to "Apple One". After digging into the Apple Music version 3.4.0 beta, the folks at 9to5Google found code strings like these:
<string name=”applemusic_with_aristotle_subtext”>Included in Apple One %s</string>
<string name=”aristotle_main_subtext”>Subscription Bundle %s</string>
The name "Aristotle" appears to be Apple's codename for its Apple One bundles.
There are also code strings that confirm that Apple Music will be included with Apple One and that the subscriptions won't overlap, meaning you won't pay twice for the same service.
Additionally, one code string suggests that you'll need an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, or Mac to manage and renew an Apple One subscription.
<string name=”aristotle_renewaloption_subtext”>You can manage your Apple One subscription using your iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac.</string>
No other details, like how much Apple One might cost, were revealed in the code.
A previous report suggested that there will be multiple Apple One bundles with different bundle tiers. For example, a basic Apple One bundle could include just Apple Music and Apple TV+, while a step up could add in Apple Arcade as well. It's expected that there will also be bundles that include Apple News+ and extra iCloud storage.
These bundles will reportedly work with Apple Family Sharing, which allows a family of up to six people share a single subscription.
There's no word yet on how much these Apple One bundles might cost, but we've heard that they could save anywhere between $2 and $5 compared to subscribing to the services separately.
Apple is hosting an event on September 15, and while it's expected to focus on new Apple Watch and iPad Air hardware, it's possible that Apple One could be announced there. It's also rumored that Apple will hold an iPhone event in October, so that's another possible time that these bundles could be announced.
