We're now just a couple of weeks out from the official Galaxy Note 10 reveal, and most of the specs of Samsung's next big things have spilled out.
The regular Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will come equipped with a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with 60Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, says well-known leaker Evan Blass. He goes on to say that the Note 10 will have a 3600mAh battery with 45W fast charging and 15W charge sharing feature. Meanwhile, the Note 10+ is said to have a 6.8-inch screen, 4300mAh battery, a microSD card slot, and an added depth-sensing camera.
Blass also says that the Note 10 will include Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 855 Plus processor. That's notable because the SD855 Plus has a higher CPU clock speed and improved GPU over the standard SD855. Previous reports said that the Note 10 would miss out on the Snapdragon 855 Plus, but now it sounds like the new chip may be included after all. Outside of the U.S., the Note 10 is expected to have an octa-core Exynos 9825 processor.
The S Pen on the Note 10 and Note 10+ is said to include air gestures. A report from WinFuture backs this up, saying that the stylus will let you navigate the Note 10 without actually touching the screen. The S Pen is said to have 4096 levels of pressure, a 0.7mm-thick tip, and IP68 water and dust resistance.
That report goes on to drop a few more Note 10 spec details, including a 2280x1080 resolution for the 6.3-inch screen. The triple rear camera setup on the Not 10 is said to include a main 12MP cam with variable aperture that can switch between f/1.5, f/1.8, and f/2.4, capturing different amounts of light to help you get the best photo. To compare, the Note 9 has a dual aperture camera with f/1.5 and f/2.4 modes.
The other rear cameras on the Note 10 are said to be a 16MP wide angle camera and a 12MP telephoto snapper. Other rumored specs of the Note 10 include a 10MP Dual Pixel front camera in a hole-punch, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and Android Pie. The Note 10 is said to measure 151 x 72 x 8mm, making it smaller than the Note 9 that measured 161.9 x 76.4 x 8.8mm.
Samsung's Galaxy Note 10 devices are looking like they'll make some interesting changes to the Note line. Traditionally, Samsung has offered one Galaxy Note with a large screen, but this year the company is expected to offer one a Note 10 with a screen smaller than the Note 9 and a Note 10+ with a much larger display. Both phones are likely to lose the 3.5mm headphone jack found on previous models, and now it sounds like only the Note 10+ will have a microSD slot, which could frustrate folks who want the smaller Note 10 but also want the option of expandable storage.
Samsung is hosting its Galaxy Note 10 event on August 7. Now that we're getting a full picture of what the Note 10 and Note 10+ will offer, are you thinking about buying one of them?
