We're now less than one week away from Google's Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL reveal, and more details on the upcoming Pixel phones continue to leak out.
Images of the Google Pixel 3a's packaging have leaked out along with specs and U.S. pricing info for both of Google's new Pixels. A video posted by This is Tech Today includes all the details, giving us a look at the box for the "Purple-ish" version of the Pixel 3a. Judging by the Pixel 3a render we saw last week, we'd say that "Purple-ish" is an accurate name for that color.
The video also mentions that the Pixel 3a will have a 5.6-inch 1080p display, 64/128GB storage options, a plastic build, and downward-firing speakers. Also expected to be included is a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is notable because that's one feature that's missing from Google's flagship Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones.
Finally, the price. There's been a lot of speculation about what Google might charge for the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL since they're expected to be more affordable versions of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL flagships. According to today's leak, the Pixel 3a will start at $399 while the Pixel 3a XL will start at $479. To compare, the Pixel 3 normally starts at $799 and the Pixel 3 XL starts at $899.
That's pretty aggressive pricing that could make the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL interesting options for a lot of people. They may not have the top-tier specs of the regular Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, but the specs of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL ought to be enough for many people, and they could offer the same quality camera as Google's flagships. Plus, you're getting a 3.5mm headphone jack with the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, as well as speedy software updates direct from Google.
