Horrific Customer Service

Posted on: December 21st, 2011 by Anonymous

I've been trying for weeks to clear up a double billing that occurred last month. After sitting on hold for 30 minutes and having customer service rep in Ghana ask us for our credit card info (to which we gasped), we've decided that's it. We will, however, contact the Better Business Bureau to file a formal complaint. It's not the customer service reps' fault. They're doing the job they've been trained to do. They're given no power or authority to really help anyone who calls with a complaint. Each month, however, it's the same. An hour wasted with a phone rep trying to add minutes to our phone. Enough is enough. We're through with Net10 and the rest of these TracPhone subsidiaries. The extra you pay for Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc. is worth it just to talk a customer service rep located in the USA.

The worst deal I have ever made

Posted on: December 14th, 2011 by Oren Caspi

After 3 days of 4 hours of wasting my time with net10 reps's (trying to re-0activate my phone). I gave up. Even my refund call was termionated in the middle. I will give up my $25 refund rather than waste 4 more hours trying to get it. I don't understand how a company like this survives.

value for money

Posted on: October 26th, 2010 by Monique Abbey

The good: No contract, no bills, no overages, good rates, great coverage. The bad: customer service could be better Summary: Funny how we get hooked into a habit so easily. I suddenly woke up one day to the fact that I was paying around $100 month after month just for the convenience of chatting and sending and receiving texts. Half the time, the call it wasn't even that necessary. Most of the time, I wasn't sure what all I was being billed for. Reassessed my spending, switched to net10 and don't have a moment of regret. I've recently upped my usage to $50, but that's still $50 saving! And the deal is even better than what I had on the same network. Unlimited talk, text and web (and 411, though I don't use that much). Coverage is good, with no national roaming charges. All this with no contract, no minute counting or overages. For the savings I'm making annually, I'll put up with the lower quality customer services.

The good: My wife had service in Montana on Net 10 while my ATT phone didn't have a signal. Phone has given good service and .10 a minute is a lot better than my ATT at .25 a minute. Will be changing to Net10 when my minutes run out. The bad: Had to call cs one time and the wait was about 30 minutes. The rep spoke English with a Spanish accent...she said she was in Caracas. Summary: So far, 9/2010, the service has been good and better than some of the other reviewers have experienced. Would go with Platinumtel for .05 a minute but their coverage isn't as good as Net10.

The perfect service for teens

Posted on: September 10th, 2010 by Linda Blair

I bought this service for my teen son, he was begging and begging for a cell phone and I ran out of excuses to buy him one when we came across Net 10. I got him a LG cell phone and he is thrilled. The treat for parents is the fact that's prepaid. I allot an x amount each month on his cell phone card and that's what he gets. Amazingly instead of expending more and ask for more minutes, my son learned to actually control and administrate the balance on his card. I think it's great!

I would have never believed it! But they have the most incompetent Customer Service

Posted on: September 6th, 2010 by Michael Salisitu

The good: Cheap, works well if it ever doesThe bad: Customer service is the worse I have ever encounteredSummary: Just pure and simple: THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE ON EARTH. Expect that they would screw things even more if you call them. If something goes wrong, throw your phone out of the window and buy a new one with a new account. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PORT A NUMBER WITH NET10 they don't have the capability or brain power to do it!

No Contract, No Bill, No Evil

Posted on: September 4th, 2010 by Rita Shaper

The good: convenient, flexible, affordableThe bad: so far, so goodSummary: I'm on a very tight budget, as I'm sure most be are right now, and decided to make some changes. I had heard about prepaid cell phones and plans but thought how good could that be. Well, to my surprise, I wish I had done this sooner. When I got the phone the activation came with 300 minutes and 60 days service. My phone helps to track my minutes and lets me buy new minutes when my balance gets low. It has 5 cent text messaging and international calls are only 15 cents. Now, I can keep in touch with all of my family and not worry about finances.

net10-

The good: great servicegood coverage no contractThe bad: not an iphoneSummary: listen of course I want an iphone or a phone that could basically do everything for me. But there is no way I could ever pay 100 dolalrs a month for a phone bill. That just isnt the way the economy is working anymore. someone told me to get a prepaid phone and reccomended Net10. I AM SO glad they did. I spend 30 bucks at most a month and get everything I really need. talking, texting, just everything that is realistic. The coverage is great.. I actually had worse coverage on my iphone!!And with no contract, I dont feel bullied by a big company.

Net10 subscriber for 1.5 years and counting

Posted on: July 27th, 2010 by Net10 User

The good: fixed cost, excellent coverage (uses AT&T's network)The bad: apparent off-shore customer support difficult to deal withSummary: only had one notable problem dealing with their apparent off-shore customer support which seemed unable to resolve my particular problem. However, I contacted corporate which resolved the issue quickly, efficiently and professionally, so I'm still a satisfied customer.
