Constant Communication with kids!!!!

Posted on: March 28th, 2010 by Luis Alvarez

The good: *Well-priced*$200 card (expiration is 1 year after purchase) = 2000 minutes!!!*Pre-paid*No contract*No monthly fee*Text message & internet available! The bad: *Basic phones*Minutes expire if not used...depends on the card you get. Summary: I needed a way for my wife to get a hold of our kids when picking them up from school, mall, etc - but I didn't want them to have anything extravagant...I didn't want my kids to be on the phone or texting for social purposes. THANK GOD FOR NET10!!!! I bought each child (14 yrs & 11 yrs) a $200 card...1 year expiration....2000 minutes. I explained that this is for a NEED ONLY basis...this was the best decision I could have made. It is a WONDERFUL service. This fits my needs perfectly. To all you parents out there contemplating purchasing a cell phone for your kids...forget the high priced monthly services & go straight to Net10! I promise you, you will NOT regret this...you end up saving substantially & teach your children self discipline! Nice job Tracfone! A+!

Great value for money, despite all the problems

Posted on: March 24th, 2010 by Edwin Ross

The good: Great value for money, very clear call and text rates, free 300 minutes and 30 days when you buy a phoneThe bad: Reportedly bad customer service (never first hand)Summary: Of all the prepaid options out there Net10 is by far the most transparent and easy to understand. This translates to being able to keep very clear track of just how you spend your money. You can know with certainty that you'll be charged 10c a minute for any calls, local, long distance or roaming and 5c per text. As someone who hates all the hidden costs and service fees from banks and cell phone providers, this is a revelation to me. Its even big enough that I can take the bad stuff with a sense of humor and perspective, knowing what the up side is.

Poor Custmer Service

Posted on: March 17th, 2010 by Steven Smith

The good: None that I could find. The bad: Drop calls no reception even in a big city like phoenix, voicemail not working. Summary: Called them several time about voice mail not working each time same thing it's fixed just give it 4 hours to start working. At one point they they transferred my call to their sister company Tracfone which just said the same thing. Drop calls seem to be a normal business with this company as well.

works well in rural

Posted on: March 14th, 2010 by Janet McClure

The good: I live out in the country and the Net10 reception is good here. Also my house has a metal roof. A lot of cell phones can't get reception under a metal roof, but I've never had a problem with Net10.The bad: Buying minutes online is too complicated. Giving your cell phone number should be enough. It must be obvious you're buying minutes for your phone if you give your number.Summary: Overall, I think Net10 is a very good service. It's cheap and I've traveled coast to coast without a glitch in reception, plus there are no roaming charges to worry about. Also, if I'm low on minutes, there are lots of places that sell cards with minutes. One of the Net10 features I like best is international calling. That may not be a big deal to a lot of people, but I have good friends in other countries and I can chat with them for little or nothing.

Posted on: March 14th, 2010 by Cris Harris

The good: Great value for money, does what it was made for. No expensive and binding contracts. Unlimited for $50. The bad: Cs took a few minutes to sort things out. but who minds when you saving this much moneySummary: I got a net10 phone when i moved to New York when my phone went missing. Loved it ever since. It works and im so glad to just have something that is hassle free. I?m saving allot of money on the unlimited plan and i got a nice phone. What more do you need!

Great phone for people who don't talk a lot

Posted on: January 1st, 2010 by kathy herron

The good: - Dropped my Motorola W375 in the toilet - worked fine afterward- No service problems whatsoever- Ring tones sounded great- Cheap since I use it rarely_ With my T401G (one of the more expensive phones) texts are only .30 instead of .50 - My Motorola W375 lasted 3 yrs before I just decided I wanted a new one.- Net 10 warns you a few times before your service expires, so you don't forget to add minutes. The bad: - Cut off date for service or they cancel it and you have to start all over again- Getting an answering machine counts as 1 minutes of useSummary: This plan is just right for the amount of use I need. I've never had to call customer service for help. Great prices, reception, phones, and ends up cheaper in the end for me than a plan.

WOW, what a crappy company!

Posted on: December 23rd, 2009 by HAVOC RAZOR

The good: Made me REALLY appreciate the BIG, REAL, AMERICAN cell providers like Verizon, Sprint/Nextel, and any other one that actually cares about its customers, doesn't outsource its customer calls overseas to India where only the connection is worse than the service! The bad: Where do I begin: ? Didn't Fed-Ex Overnight the phone as promised? Didn't even ship the phone ordered online? Hold-times to "Customer Support" averaged 22 mins? Couldn't reach the same supervisor? Promised to receive a follow-up call but didn't? Promised to receive the phone next day but didn't? Transfered to "proper department" that wouldn't accept the call due to "volume of calls"? Phone connection with "Customer Support" typically full of static or pulsingSummary: If you value your time, patience, mood, energy, efforts, and good faith, stay away from this company like a contagious disease. In this case, you don't even get what you paid for!

Liars

Posted on: December 5th, 2009 by Edward Sharp

The good: NoneThe bad: DishonestySummary: I called to get more information on how these phones work, as my aunt was interested in one. I spoke with "Russel." I asked what fees were involved aside from purchasing minutes. He said there were no fees and if she were to purchase her phone right now with 300 minutes, those minutes would remain active permanently without additional fees. He made no mention of service days.

Incompitant Customer Service

Posted on: October 29th, 2009 by Alan Hale

The good: Phone Service is good. The bad: Customer service is from India, persons answering are more concerned with being polite than in solving problems....Summary: My wife and I have identical Nokia 1100 Cell Phones. Hers works at all cell towers. Mine works at some cell towers. They will not fix my phone. I have made 3 calls which lasted over an hour each time while they put you on hold and discussed things with someone, or transferred you to someone else. They also never had any documentation on previous calls. My phone was diagnosed with a bad SIMM card. They have never sent one despite their promises. I am going to make a complaint to the BBB since they are never going to send a new SIMM card to me.

service

Posted on: August 19th, 2009 by Anonymous

The good: noneThe bad: no supportSummary: My phone quit working after I had just purchased 300 minutes and I called support and they sent me a new phone but lost the minutes I had purchased. To me this is consumer fraud at its best.
