Great

Posted on: September 1st, 2008 by Joel Rodriguez

The good: Reliability, clear and strong signal, good ratesThe bad: Limited to your calling area, small selection of phone choicesSummary: I have had my Boost phone for a year now. I have not been disappointed yet. The phone is durable, the calling is dependable, and the price is unbeatable. Plus no contracts. However, they need to add a few more phones to the selection when buying. Also, you can only call in your calling area, or you begin to roam. But you can text when you are traveling and there are no additional fees. The phone does not work in Alaska or Puerto Rico. (I travel a lot) lol

Horrible Customer Service

Posted on: July 24th, 2008 by Cristina Perello

The good: Pros??? NONEThe bad: Everything about Boost Mobile is a con. That is exactly what they are CONS. Summary: The vendor of Boost Mobile said I can import my cell number once my contract was over with my original cell company. So i activated the boost cell phone with every intention of changing my number. Once my contract expired, they told me they could not change my number once the phone was activated. The "only" way they could do that was by cancelling the account and re-activating it, but of course now their monthly fee had increased from $50.00 to $70.00. We called to complain to the Boost vendor and they were nice enough to return my money for the full cost of the phone. As for Boost customer service, they were untrained, uninformed, rude and could care less if they kept a customer or not. They didn't return any of the money that was left on the account. They said the phone would remain active until all the money on the account was used even though I returned the phone. They have a nice scam going. Needless to say, I do NOT recommend Boost to anyone.

Never received a call!

Posted on: April 15th, 2008 by John Oestreich

The good: Great scam for Boost and Sprint! The bad: Never received a call in my home calling area. Called customer service 3 times to get problem fixed. No success! Never offerred refund or credit. What a company! Great place to work, if you are a do nothing!Summary: My partner and purchased a Boost phone for our business in early February. It was activated and we started using it. We published the number on company cards and web site. We received a minimum number of calls. About 4 weeks into using the phone, one of our customers asked why our phone number was long distance. They were calling from within our home calling area. As a matter of fact it was in the same community. We investigated and found out that the phone would only accept calls from other cell phones. If you called our number from a land line within our home calling area it would force you to dial it as a long distance call. The techs( that's what they call themeselves)at Boost were unable to fix the problem. Thanks, for the reliable service Boost Mobile, a.k.a. Sprint. Your service has made a big negative impact on my business.

VERY poor customer service

Posted on: April 13th, 2008 by Mike Wellman

The good: For $55/month it was perfect for my teenage daughter. Decent coverage. Unlimited talk/text for the plan I chose. No contract. The bad: As stated in most reviews for Boost, Extremely poor customer service. Summary: Their standard answer is "There's nothing we can do". Bought phone Dec22 for daughter. 1st Month is free. When free month was up, I did not make payment for Feb because I took phone from my daughter for 2 weeks. Mid Feb I called to reactivate and was told to wait until Feb22 because if I paid when I originally called, I would be charged for full month and then still owe again Feb22. I did exactly as I was told and made 2 payments on Feb22, They applied 1st payment to Jan which was free! Called them I realized this and guess what their answer was. Yep, There's nothing we can do. I threatened to go to Cricket and the CSR I was speaking with acted like she couldn't care less and was in hurry to get me off phone. They are willing to lose a customer over $55. As of right now, I would definitely not recommend Boost to anyone.

Untrained staff

Posted on: April 8th, 2008 by Anonymous

Worst customer service, untrained staff. If I ask a rep to please transfer me to whatever department? They respond by saying "Yeah sure I'm in that department you name it!. They sound like a third party answering service that has no idea if the company sells phones or apples.

Worst Customer Service/Phone!

Posted on: March 31st, 2008 by Marj Russell

The good: No contractThe bad: Unbelievably long hold times. Incredibly poor trained staff. Everytime you call for the same problem, you'll get a different answer/excuse/explanation. Staff has no knowledge of their product/service. Once you cancel, YOU have to delete your voicemail. People will keep calling you and never know you no longer have the phone. Summary: I purchased the phone because I needed something temporary because I am in and out of the country a lot. It seemed like a good idea because you don't have to sign any contract and you can cancel anytime. I started having trouble with sending text messages. Everytime I called, I was first on hold for average of 45 minutes and then all they said they would do is "reset" my phone. No one could ever tell me why my phone wasn't sending or receiving text messages. They said "its just something that happens." First they told me I could send text messages to email addresses and it did work the first couple times then it stopped working and kept telling me I didn't have enough credit to send messages. I called 4 times and they "reset" my phone, but it never worked. Finally one of the customer svc reps said it would cost extra to add the text message to email svc to the plan. I canceled the service and returned the phone. 2 months later, my friends were emailing me wanting to know why I hadn't been returning their phone calls. I called my old number and there I was: telling my friends to leave me a message. I assumed just like any other phone service, that they would disconnect the number or delete the voice mail. But they didn't. I called customer service one last time and waited on hold for 45 mins, only to be told, they couldn't help me at all. The only way to get rid of my voice on a phone I didn't have for 2 months was for someone else to sign up for that number, or phone, or combination of both and delete my old recording and re-record their own! The most ridiculous thing I've ever had.

One of the worst customer service ever

Posted on: January 28th, 2008 by Doesn't matter It's irrelevant

The good: Price and coverageThe bad: Customer Service Reps are inept and cannot help at all.Corporate policies are stupid and pointless.Summary: I waited 1 year to get rid of Verizon after been their customer for 10 years and for a few months I kept looking for the best cellphone carrier that could match to Verizon service, the winner: Boost Mobile!!So I purchase their weak phone and tried to port my old number unsuccessfully because I activated the phone because I had no other phone available to call BoostMobile and port my old phone, well to my surprise they couldn't help me because I had activated the phone and got a new number. ONLY boost mobile does that... all other companies will cancel your newly activated number and port in your old number!Changes to your account/plan can/will only take place on your monthly renewal date, not before nor after.Customer service nows nothing about what they're paid to do. I know more about cellphone companies/networks/services/coverage and technology than all of them together.

Where You At?

Posted on: January 21st, 2008 by Steven Gabrielson

The good: Walkie Talkie for a dollar only on the days you use it. Very durable. basically a work horse of the Pre-Paid phones. Uses Nextel and Sprint. Runs kinda like a computer. has Java (What computers use). the Re-Boost cards are reuseable and found everywhere. has a pre-paid debit card avalible from boost and green dot. has the fast walkie-Talkie on the market. Has a Sim card so if you break yourt phone or you upgrade or buy a new one it'll make it easy to transfer. The best part if you don't like anyThe bad: Now the bad parts. bad pre paid rates and plan rates (not inculding Walkie Talkie). No service in some of the places where sprint has their network. Has to download a text each time. takes forevr to find anything in the web. pricey apps for it. Does not come with a Calculator (it's like 5 dollars to buy one for it)! the battery always needs to be charge or AKA it doesn't last long. to get a good phone it kinda cost alot.Summary: Overall i like it it has been dependable to me. DO NOT buy it if you only have 1 or 2 friends on it that has walkie talkie and you don't talk to them that much! If it fits your right needs go at it!

The Worst Customer Svc I've ever had

Posted on: November 8th, 2007 by Alicia Bennett

My contract w/ t mobile had expired so I decided to try Boost. I was on the premium plan that allowed me to have free nights and weekends. I noticed that I was losing minutes and realized that they were including calls that I received at nights. I called and spoke to 8 customer reps no one was sure on how to handle the call, so they just transferred me (w/o notifying me before hand) and I was on hold for hours. All of that I still have no solutions.
