Today's a big day for Fitbit as it's unveiling a trio of new products at a range of price points.
First up is the Fitbit Sense, which is its most advanced smartwatch to date. One of its highlight new features is the EDA sensor that can help you track and better understand stress. You just place your palm over the face of the Sense and it will detect electrodermal activity responses, which are small electrical changes in the sweat level of your skin.
Measuring your EDA responses can help you understand how your body responds to stress and how you can manage it. There's also a new Stress Management Score that calculates how your body is responding to stress based on your heart rate, sleep, and activity data.
The Sense is also Fitbit's first device with an ECG app. With it, you can measure your heart rhythm and check for signs of atrial fibrilation by holding your fingers on the corners of the stainless steel ring around the watch for 30 seconds.
Of course, Fitbit also includes fitness and activity tracking tools like on-board GPS, more than 20 on-device exercise modes, and SmartTrack automatic activity tracking. There's advanced sleep tracking included, too.
The Fitbit Sense features and AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3. You can get notifications for calls, texts, and calendar events from your phone, and Android users can send quick replies when the phone is nearby. There's Fitbit Pay included for contactless payments, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built-in, and water resistance up to 50 meters.
Finally, Fitbit says the Sense's battery will last you six days on a single charge or up to 12 hours with continuous GPS use.
The second device announced today is the Fitbit Versa 3. It shares a design and many of the same features as the Fitbit Sense, including an AMOLED screen, built-in GPS, activity and sleep tracking, Fitbit Pay, and a six-day battery life.
The two big Sense features that didn't make it into the Versa 3 are the EDA scanning to monitor your stress and the ECG app to scan for AFib. In exchange for those features, though, the Versa 3 is a bit cheaper.
And then there's the Fitbit Inspire 2. This device is less of a full-on smartwatch and more of a focused fitness tracker, but it does still offer more than 20 exercise modes, 24/7 heart rate tracking, and sleep tracking.
Because it's not a full-on smartwatch, the Fitbit Inspire 2 can boast a slimmer design and a longer battery life, offering up to 10 days of battery on a single charge. Fitbit also touts that the Inspire 2 has a brighter and more vibrant OLED screen than its predecessor.
All three new Fitbit devices are available for pre-order today and will ship by September 25. The Fitbit Sense is priced at $329.95 and comes with a free six-month trial of Fitbit Premium, which offers advanced health insights, games and challenges to help you reach your goals, workout plans from Fitbit, and sleep tools.
The Fitbit Versa 3 is $229.95 and includes a free 3-month trial of Fitbit Premium, while the Fitbit Inspire 2 is $99.95 and comes with a free 12-month trial of Fitbit Premium.
